Swatch: Essence & The Face Shop Nail Polish

I got this Essence nail polish from the lovely miss Witoxicity (Thanks you!). When I first got this nail polish, I immediately thought of my The Face Shop nail polish which the color looks similar to this Essence one. But when I got them side by side, they don't look really similar, Essence nail polish looks more to burgundy while The Face Shop nail polish looks more to mauve (Sorry! I'm terrible at describing colors).

Left: Essence Multi Dimesion 3 in 1 Nail Polish in 55 Spot on
Right: The Face Shop Nail Polish in BR805

left: without flash, right: with flash.
pinky: Essence 55 Spot On - one coat
ring: Essence 55 Spot On - two coats
middle: The Face Shop BR805 - one coat
index: The Face Shop BR805 - two coats
thumb: The Face Shop BR805 - three coats

From the pictures above you can see how different they are. Essence nail polish is very opaque while The Face Shop nail polish is really sheer. I need to take three coats of The Face Shop nail polish to reach that opacity. And Essence nail polish only needs one coat but I prefer two coats for a more even application.

Essence nail polish 55 Spot on
The staying power of this nail polish is just mediocre, it chips in just two or three days upon application. And it's very streaky, I was having hard time to get a smooth coat from this nail polish. But it's a really lovely shade, it's very wearable in my opinion.

The Face Shop BR805
The staying power is no better than Essence but I like that with thin application, it dries so much faster than Essence nail polish and it's not as streaky.

Till next time! :)

Apopofkawaii.com

Two months ago Nic Nic from Bang Bang She Shoots hosted a grand giveaway to celebrate the opening of her new store, Apopofkawaii.com, and I was one of the lucky winners. I've received the parcel few weeks ago and never got a chance to post it (Sorry Nic Nic!). Here's the prize that I won:

All the stuffs were packed really well!

She added a cute HK blotting papers as extra :)

Canmake Cheek Gradation in 01 Pink Stripe

Swatches with no flash.
(Sorry I forgot to take the pic with flash)
I've been wanting this cheek gradation for so long and finally got a chance to try it. The pigmentation is pretty good although it might have to take a few swipes to show the colors. Overall, I like this blush! :)

Swatches on arm.
I was thrilled when I knew that one of my prize is Coffret D'or shadows palette! The packaging is really beautiful and of course the eye shadows too. The texture is really smooth and the colors are quite pigmented. I love this palette to bits :D.

Thank you Nic Nic for the wonderful prizes, I love them all :).

And please do visit and support her store, Apopofkawaii.com.

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Food

Another food post! You guys know how I love to eat and post them here on my blog :D. So when two weeks ago I went to Singapore with my sister, we wasted no time to enjoy the food there.

We went to Shokudo Japanese Coffee House as my sister mentioned that the food there is quite good. The serving size is quite big and we almost couldn't finish the foods. We ordered these two:
Tonkatsu Curry Omu Rice
Japanese-style deep-fried pork loin and curry with omelette rice

Hakodate Seafood Cheese Pizza

Then the next day, my cousin joined us and we had our dinner at Kuishin-bo, it's an all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant. Yup, another Japanese food cause we just love it :D.
All the foods there are really good, esp. the desserts. I couldn't stop eating and one thing for sure, I'll definitely go back there! :D

By the way, I'm going to end my giveaway earlier for some reasons. The deadline is on 21st July 9pm (GMT+7). It's only six days left, so hurry up if you haven't entered yet!

Review: Nexcare Acne Patch

I haven't done any reviews for so long, so today I'm going to review one of my favorite beauty product ever! :D

Do you ever feel irritated or even frustrated when you see a big red pimple on your face but you can't do anything to make it go away? I did! But not anymore since I've found Nexcare Acne Patch. I'll let you know why :).

There, I warned you...
Pic #1                             Pic #2

Pic #3                             Pic #4

Pic #1: Before
Pic #2: With the Acne Patch on
Pic #3: The next day
Pic #4: After two days with the continuous uses of the Acne Patch (I changed it everyday)

My thought:
The result is amazing, huh? I'm really glad that I've picked it up and tried it, now I can say that I can't live without it! :D. It's not really hard to get as it's available on Sasa.com. I got my first Acne Patch in Taiwan, fell in love with it then got the back ups in Singapore. If I'm not wrong, I remember that it's cheaper in Taiwan like SGD 3 less than in Singapore. I bought it for around SGD 7 in Singapore, I think it's also around there on Sasa.com. It comes with different sizes, 12 patches x 12 mm and 24 patches x 8 mm. I like it with the different sizes as I wouldn't want to waste the patch if my pimple is too small for the patch :D. I've never tried other Acne Patch from different brand so I can't compare them.

Pros:
- Works effectively
- Affordable (around SGD 7 or USD 5)
- Travel friendly
- Comes in two sizes
- Easy to get (in some drugstores or on Sasa.com)

Cons:
- Not available locally (for me)

Rating: 4.9/5
(Yes, I love this that much if not 100% :D )

Repurchase: Definitely!
