Review: My Beauty Diary X Hello Kitty Masks

Sheet masks have been always on my list of must-buy things whenever I visit Taiwan but on my last Taiwan trip, these two boxes of MBD X Hello Kitty masks were on the top of the list since I first heard about them and I was really lucky to be able to get them as they are limited edition and hardly available anywhere else besides Taiwan.

To be honest, I'm not really into reviewing sheet masks as I feel they basically are the same. Having said that, I'm gonna at least try to do a short reviews for both of the MBD X Hello Kitty masks and hope you'll enjoy it! :)

Strawberry Milk Mask

Each box contains 10 sheet masks that come in 3 different designs:

Effects: Whitening, Smoothening.

The scent of this mask is exactly like strawberry milk and I really like it! It also contains a lot of essence which I love because I could use the excess essence on my neck and arms. The mask itself fits my face pretty well which is really rare for MBD masks, as most of the MBD masks don't fit my face well. I used the mask for about 30 minutes and after removing the mask my skin felt slightly sticky. But I massaged the essence in for a few secs and my skin felt really smooth and hydrated afterwards. I didn't notice any whitening effect on my skin though but I like that it left my skin smooth even on the next morning too.

Honey Strawberry Mask

If the other mask smells exactly like strawberry milk, this one smells like honey! Just like the strawberry milk mask, this honey strawberry mask also has a lot of essence and fits my face really well. And it did left a slightly sticky film on my skin as well but the sticky feeling disappeared after I massaged it in. I noticed a brightening effect from this mask but it's only temporary which most of the sheet masks are. This mask is more hydrating than the strawberry milk mask and i think it's because of the honey extract property in this mask. It also left my skin smooth and hydrated for quite a while.

Overall, I really like both of the masks but honey strawberry mask gets more points for me as I feel it's more hydrating and it really has brightening effect even though it's only temporary. Too bad they're limited edition and I'm sure I won't be able to get them anymore in the future.

Maybelline Long Lasting Gel Liner in Black

This is the only thing that I got from my Penang trip. I wasn't going to get this but when i saw it was 30% off, I just grabbed one as the review for this gel liner is pretty good. Haven't tried it yet.

My Beauty Diary Masks: Bird's Nest & Southern France Apricot

Got these masks 2 for SGD3.35, think it's not a really bad deal since I've ever paid for a higher price in the past. Haven't tried them yet.

Biore UV Perfect Face Milk SPF 50+ PA+++

I need a high SPF sunscreen and saw this sunscreen claims to have shine control properties so I decided to get one. I've tried it and I'm really impressed that it really does control excessive sebum and keep my face shine-free. Definitely a product that worth to try.

Biore Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Sheets

I love this facial cleansing wipes, it's perfect for my lazy day and also great for travelling. Got this as a backups.

Daiso Nose Pack

I've read some reviews that this nose pack is better than The Face Shop White Mud Nose Pack and so much cheaper. Haven't tried it yet but you can read Evie's review and Macnunu's review.

Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge

I just knew I had to get one after reading Sizbelle's review about this sponge cleanser. I've tried it and it really cleans my sponge well. Here's the before and after pictures:

It looks so much better, doesn't it? I'll definitely wash my sponges more often from now on!

Haul from Taiwan

As I've said on my previous post, I went Taiwan by joining a tour group so I've expected that I won't get much time to shop. But nevertheless, I still got to grab some beauty stuffs there :D

A bunch of MBD masks that I bought to share with my sisters and friends. They were doing a promo in Cosmed for buying five packs of any kind of MBD mask from natural line, we'll get one pack of White-tea Peony from luxury line for free. They told me that this promo will last until May. I think it's a pretty great deal.

Of course I didn't want to miss FaceQ masks that from the same company of MBD masks. I got all four of them :D

Last haul from Watsons. I only went to one Watsons store there, and was disappointed that it didn't have some stuffs that I wanted. But still, I got to buy some stuffs from my list.

I didn't buy the Hadalabo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion but my sister did and she's loving it right now. Instead the lotion, I got the masks. Haven't tried them though. 

I was going to check out the Lush store in Taiwan but sadly it turned out that Taiwan's Lush got some problems (read here) and all of their retail stores were closed on the exact day when I was in Taipei. Sigh... What a coincidence...

MBD : Q10 Rejuvenating Mask

This mask gave me a slightly dewy look on the next day i used it, and i really like it. As it claims, it does give me a soothing feel. I definitely will repurchase this.

MBD: Intensive Peptides Mask

This mask doesn't do anything to me. Just like any other masks. But my friend likes it, she didn't tell me why though. But it does smell good. Maybe i have to give it another shot.

Garnier Brightening Eye Roll-on

I bought this last week, and still waiting for the result. It claims to reduce eye bags and dark circles in 4 weeks. I really love the cooling effect from it. Hopefully in 2 or 3 more weeks i can get the result as i have quite obvious dark circle under my eye. Actually i was going to buy this last month when i was in Singapore. Luckily i didn't buy, well, i almost did, but when i saw the back of its packaging, i saw that it's produced in Indonesia. I immediately put it back on shelf. I think if it's made in Indonesia, it must be cheaper here. The price in Singapore is S$19.90. And i bought it under IDR 50000 here (around S$7.00). See the price difference? I think sometimes things are too overpriced in Singapore.

Sake Yeast Mask

Nothing much to say about this mask, i didn't feel any visible effect from this mask, the only effect that i could tell is cooling. I don't think i would buy more of this mask.

Apple Polyphenol Mask

I really LOVE this mask. The after effect from this mask is visibly reduced my pore size. And i love the mild apple scent. I will buy more, okay not more but much more of this Mask ;p

My Beauty Diary Masks

I just received my MBD masks order two days ago. I ordered them from a spree on June, but just got my package, the seller told me that it had some custom issues there. This is my first purchase on line, so it's a relief that finally it's within my reach =)


I ordered these masks with two of my friends, each of us ordered 10 pieces of mask sheet. So the seller gave us free shipping fee. Here are my masks:

I've used Yogurt Mask last night, It's for moisturizing and oil control. After like 30 mins or so, i peeled off the mask and quite like the after effect, my face seemed more radiant. But the next day when i woke up, my face was as oily as before. To me, the oil control function is not that good, or maybe it's just because my face is too oily? Who knows....
